This recipe was inspired by old-school stouts, which were robust, black, and well-hopped, and used only British ingredients. Scottish brewers such as William Younger & Co. created these powerful, well-hopped stouts for export in the late 1800s. Holy Goat Brewery created their own version using a base of light, brown, and black malts.
