Little Earth Project decided to experiment with British-made fruit purees in 2019 to branch out from their usual foraging/local sourcing of whole fruit. You might have tried their Blueberry Sour or Blackcurrant & Rye Sours, both of which were released earlier in 2021. Even though they used a lot of puree in each of those beers, they still had some leftover. They decided to take a barrel that had been ageing for possible use in their Stupid Sexy Suffolk Blend, add the purees, and see what happened! The malted barley base, with a touch of rye malt for a light spice, picks up on the fruity tannins with the oak coming through. Light acetic complexities bring the fruit to the forefront even more.
